giants just 2 games to nothing! [ cheering and applause ] >> the giants head to detroit in the driver's seat after a stellar outing from starting pitcher madison bumgarner tonight, and just enough offense to get the job done! gary is here to break down game 2. >> first the highlights, young lady. here we go, out to the ball park, as always you had to know somebody to get in! it was raucous as usually! here comes the turning point. top 2nd, down the line off the bat of delmond young. they wave prince fielder home, and a 1-0 detroit lead is no, no, no!

he's thrown out at the plate. and pretty much the tigers' hopes went with it. they couldn't touch madison bumgarner. passed over by zito and lincecum for previous starts in the postseason. after a rough start he was all on tonight. starting the double play ball on fielder, 7 innings, 2 hit, 8 strikeouts for bumgarner. and when it's going your way, take a peek at this bunt. looks like it's going foul, but nope! stays right the giants' way. that loads the bases in the 7th. and brandon crawford, nothing spectacular, but he grounds into a double play, doesn't get an rbi, but the in-field was kept back. 1-0 giants, and that's all they needed. sacrificed play was added down the road by hunter

of fans still out here at momo's across the street having an extra drink to celebrate that game 2 win! many tell me they don't believe the series will be coming back to san francisco. they say they are optimistic this giants team will win the world series. they say a lot of people didn't even think the giants would make it this far. for some, this game meant a lot though because it was the first word series game they attended. they say it was the worth cost since the giants won tonight. >> i'm just so happy! this is great! >> i think it brings everyone together. look how beautiful the city is with everyone together! and everyone is being friendly! >> ever since cabrera got put down, everybody thought we were in trouble. and they rebounded, and you got to give kudos to pence and scutaro. >> we're not coming back here. we're done. we're going to detroit, we're going to finish

tonight marks the one-year anniversary of the night that the oakland police department kicked occupy oakland protestors out of frank ogawa plaza. that night, police used teargas, and there was violence on both sides. tonight, protestors held a rally and marched to remember that day. kron4's philippe chegal is live. >> reporter: it was nothing like a year ago. one protest did throw a rock at police. and that suspect was arrested for felony battery on a peace officer. other than that, no major incidents. but this was a busy intersection just hours ago. >> reporter: protestors were vocal, leaving frank ogawa plaza. they took on the streets

starting at 14th and broadway. >> i hope people remember that we need to hold our police officers accountable. >> reporter: iraq veteran scott olson was among the crowd. one year ago, he was hit in the head by a canister of here gas by the oakland police. that led the chief of police to recommend earlier this month that more than 40 of his officers be disciplined for their actions during occupy oakland rallies. >> opd has committed a large number of violent acts against the community. and we need to make sure that, you know, we call them out and change their actions. >> reporter: protestors held signs and blocked traffic while marching in the road. overall, the demonstration was peaceful. >> i think it's actually a beautiful turnout. what the media has said about occupy oakland has turned people off about it.

>> reporter: the group stopped at 19th and telegraph where they say the oakland lease have used extensive force. some residents are saying the protest was more pain than productive. >> i'm sick and tired of these people coming from out of town depleting our resources. resources that could be going for the betterment of our community. we have to pay police officers to come down here and police these people. and they're destroying our town center. >> reporter: the march lasted for about an hour and 45 minutes. a small group of protestors say they're going to stay overnight in the plaza but they plan on leaving by 6:00 in the morning. downtown oakland prepared tonight as well just in case things get out of hand as they did last year. this is video of the protestors clashing with police last year. some

businesses downtown boarded their windows this time. heightened security, visible around the plaza and throughout the city's business district. mayor jean quan said she was confident oakland was ready. >> well, you know, we have had a lot of demonstrations since a year ago, and we are prepared for anything. we're not expecting a huge turnout, and we've been pretty clear for the whole last year, no violence, no vandalism, no camping. if they want to have a peaceful demonstration, we're ready to accommodate them. but we're also ready to enforce the rules. >> and as you heard in our live report, so far the protest has been mostly peaceful tonight. we've been seeing improving conditions throughout the day, clearing skies, drier weather, right now, temperatures are on the cooler side. we were in the 40s just a moment ago. but temperatures just to 50 degrees

identity was also the victim of a scalper. >> he wanted $2,000, and he came down to $425 each. sounded like a good deal. i wanted to check them there at the ticket office, and they said they were fake. >> reporter: he snapped his photo on his cellphone of the scalper which he then showed to the police. there is a lot of cash floating around for a world series ticket w. that much money, it brings out the worst in people. now, this is a good place to find people behaving badly! even though they were sold fake ticket, they went back to the scalper. >> we got the ticket, and they were fake, and he came with us to give us our money back. >> reporter: yep, he gave them their money back. >> i'm going to go put out a contract on him. >> reporter: this guy was not so lucky. he couldn't find the scalper.

and i think he was kidding about putting out the contract. >> reporter: he was kidding, right? decision 2012, it is not hard to guess who this man is voting for. president obama paused from campaigning to cast his early vote in the presidential campaign! in his home town of chicago today. it's part of a campaign push to get as many people as possible to vote before election day. the president joked with the staff at the polling site he is the first sitting president to vote early in person. gop presidential nominee is on a whirlwind tour of swing states. here he is in defiance ohio today. romney's campaign would not comment on its advertising strategy. richard nixon in 1972 was the last

republican to carry minnesota. >> kron4 will have extended live coverage on election night, november the 6th, starting at 8:00. and you can stay updated on our website, kron4.com. clear skies over the bay area this evening. we are going to see chilly conditions overnight into the 40s in a number of locations. tomorrow afternoon is going to be really nice with plenty of sunshine. will we're already seeing fog forming right now, and we're going to see more fog in certain areas, namely the north bay through the overnight hours. into saturday and sunday, we'll continue to see sunny skies and warmer temperatures. 70s and even 80s will be the norm as we head through the weekend. out the door tomorrow morning, chilly and fog. 40s through santa rosa and napa. liver more valley in the 40s, same thing in san jose. 50s and 60s later in the morning hours. into the afternoon, temperatures bumping up into the 70s.

a big warmup for the south bay locations. up from 15-15 degrees -- 10-15 degrees. for the inland valleys, also the 70s. 70 in san leandro, 73 in union city. the coastline in the 60s tomorrow. 64 in ocean beach. 68 in san francisco . 70s up through the north bay, overall, a pretty nice day. and we've got a few of those on tap. all through the weekend, great weather. into monday, temperatures start to cool. and rain back in the forecast early wednesday. wednesday of course is halloween. it does look like the rain will be confined to the morning at this point! but we'll keep you posted. the giants take control of the world series! but this time it was pitching and defense, not home runs that got the job done. gary is next.

fielder from 1st, jean lamont, the third baseman coach, real close. but posey catches a back leg, and the game remains scoreless. to the 4th inning. and miguel cabrera, the chippel crown winner, a -- triple crown winner, a bullet. sandoval making the play. good defense from sandoval. madison bumgarner, he could not be touched. he might not even have started this game if the giants hadn't gone 5 games in the reds series, 7 against slus. they needed him -- against st. louis. they needed him tonight n. 7 inning, 2 hit, did not allow a run. and you can't show this enough. when things are going your way, this bunt stays fair x. it loaded the bases in the 7th, and brandon crawford then -- some people might say why'd they keep the in-field back?

without the tigers scoring the way it turned out, that's a legitimate question. crawford grounds into a double play. pence scores this one, 1-0. the fly-ball brings angel pagan home, and the giants lead is now 2-0, and that is pretty much it. sergio romo continues to be the lights-out closer! omar infante, this it is! 2-0 san francisco. they lead the series two games to none. madison bum garner in from -- bumgarner from nowhere to the star of game 2. >> did it feel different for you out there tonight? compared to the last two? >> yeah, i went in in the 7thing in instead of getting taken out in the 3rd.
